Get two products in one

Instead of spending a lot of time and money on voice products and paying a separate provider for your Internet, you can have everything under one roof for increased convenience, security, performance, and affordability. With FTTP or FTTC, it is like having two business-grade products in one! This is called an FTTC converged network, combining high-speed internet access and assured voice in one FTTC/FTTP product.

All businesses will have different requirements

One thing we recognize here is that all companies are going to have contrasting LAN and WAN environment needs, especially when running VOIP. We cater our service to suit your company’s needs. You will never find a one-size-fits-all voice ready package here. Instead, we will make sure that we provide you with voice ready connectivity that is perfectly suited to your business requirements.

Premium grade service that prioritizes data traffic

Most of the solutions that we have available are Premium grade. What does this mean?

Throughout the wholesale network, they have heightened traffic weighting. The effect is that during periods of high demand your traffic will have priority. You can prioritize assured voice, which guarantees a set number of concurrent calls, and so you benefit from the quality of calls, over data traffic. This is something a lot of businesses do not provide. However, we have set up our service to ensure it facilitates your business to work in the most efficient and effective manner.

However, because voice is a synchronous protocol, it requires specific bandwidth in both directions to ensure quality. This is why you need voice elevated or assured internet in place. Plus, by reserving a portion of the available bandwidth for voice ‘channels,’ we guarantee that this is the case.

Designed for use with our IP telephony services

Our assured internet and voice elevated bandwidth or converged products are designed to be used with our IP Telephony services, which already have a position as a market leader. This means that you get all of the advantages that are associated with purchasing an end-to-end telephony solution from one supplier. This gives you peace of mind because it makes all of your data traffic easier to manage while also ensuring you benefit from a much higher level of quality.

While it may cost a bit more, it is the only way to guarantee voice will function well. So, while the fees may be more, you will certainly have a much higher potential in terms of ROI. With basic contended services, the voice has to fight with data, and you may hear the scratchy sounds in the background and that irritating echo effect. We provide a managed router with all Converged or Voice Elevated connections to ensure we can maximize our support levels and have the visibility to resolve any issues straight away. This is different from your standard broadband packages, which can be delivered using wires only, and therefore little or no QOS. It is also available on Ethernet and Leased Line services.

Money well spent – Why it is worth spending a bit more now?

While this service may seem more expensive at first, it certainly beats having to have separate data and voice broadband services. The latter is inevitably going to cost more overall when you consider the time and money spent on dealing with inefficient and poor quality calls, which undoubtedly have a detrimental impact on the overall customer service you provide.

What does this mean in terms of download speeds?

Download speeds are the same as standard FTTC/FTTP/ADSL. The key difference is that part of the bandwidth is going to be reserved for voice. Voice is a relatively low bandwidth user. Depending on which codec is used, the requirement is about 85Kbs. In a 20MB upload FTTC circuit, this means approximately 200 concurrent calls if nothing else is going on the network! So, you can see how it easily justifies itself with a 30-channel system, for example, when you compare it with the cost of the equivalent 30 channel ISDN service (which of course is being phased out by 2025!)

The last thing any business wants to do is get left behind. Technology is developing at a rapid pace. A few years ago, VoIP may have seemed like a niche subject topic. Today, however, it is dominating businesses around the world, and so you need to have the right technology and connectivity in place to make the most of it. This is something we can ensure is the case.
